He wants to be brought up in creed (faith, belief) that is now outdated (old, old-fashioned). By being a pagan, he wants to be in touch with the nature. At least as a pagan he would have the chance to see the beauties of nature. He wishes to be in the lap of nature like a primitive (ancient. prehistoric) man. He believes that the nature has something that no other thing has.

Wordsworth is pained (hurt, upset, unhappy, disturbed) to see that the entire world is mad after money. Their love for wealth is so great that they are even ready to be the slave of the God of Wealth. As a lover of nature he cannot see man out of nature. The sonnet is compact in size. The language is simple. The sonnet beautifully expresses the poet’s favourite theme which is “Go back to Nature.”
